Recently, I saw the film strongly marketed by the internet as the film paranormal activity. For more, maybe not the same methods marketing exactly, just similar, but this is not the issue. Catfish was released on 19 September in select theatres. It does not appear to have as much hubbub as activity paranormal, but I liked it as much.
The difference between these two films? One was scripted and one was not (except if you're like others who call into question the authenticity of the film). In so many words, filmmakers, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, say that they have begun recording Nev Schulman, when his life took a turn intéressante.Spoilers in advance, but I will try not to leave too:
He has been contacted by someone unexpected and a relationship with this person. His brother filmmaker, Ariel and friend, Henry, found it interesting and unusual, so they started the shooting of the film it and kept current when things are more interesting.
Some people call a documentary, but it has been marketed as a "reality thriller" and Ariel he calls a "fake documentary." The thing is that nobody really knows what should really call because it is a style of cinema that has never been published before. Documentaries have tended to be there to make a point or inform. And then on Cloverfield and paranormal activity that appear exactly as it but they are entirely fictional posing as something of real Poisson-chat, however, is a non-fiction piece which is to have an element of the real story there. You are engaged in the same way you would when watching a regular narrative film unlike you would with a documentary emotionally. This is something that never really was captured before, well, not for a film which is distributed to theaters.
So my question is, is a new kind of cinema? we know already YouTube style films are, but they are not true of all this is.Are filmmakers will begin to have their cameras running 24/7 with their friends and relatives, hoping to capture something interesting like Catfish has?It has certainly inspired to do me something with it!
